The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah stressed that the decision to change the management of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) was inevitable, adding that it was the first step in a series of profound reforms aimed at ending the state of chaos and restoring vitality to the Libyan economy.
Dbeibah added during a cabinet meeting that with this decision, the page of individualism, moodiness and political blackmail using the most important financial position in the country had been turned irrevocably.
He pointed out that the era of non-institutionalism and individualism has become part of the past, adding that his government won’t accept the extension of the current bodies in power or sit idly by in the face of the group that had been obstructing elections.
He said: “Going to direct elections that renew the legitimacy of all legislative and executive bodies is a red line for us. There are millions being paid, weapons being shipped, media and intelligence tools working day and night, and consciences being bought, with the aim of undermining your stability and destroying your economy.” Dbeibah explained.
