The spokesman for the Sirte-Jufra Operations Room, Abdelhadi Drah, has confirmed that Khalifa Haftar’s militias have removed the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous Operation’s memorial from the iconic roundabout of Al-Zaafran.
Drah told Libya Alahrar TV on Sunday that the symbolism of the removed memorial was that it commemorated the sacrifices of the martyrs who were killed liberating Sirte from the terrorists of ISIS.
He also added that the place where the memorial set up was also very symbolic as ISIS terrorists used to carry out their heinous verdicts in the same place: Al-Zaafran roundabout, until the fighters of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous liberated fhe city and set up the memorial as a new era without any presence of terror in the city.
