The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, has stressed Rome’s commitment to supporting the Libyan government and people in reconstruction and development efforts, adding in her speech while meeting with Libyan counterpart Abdul Hamid Dbeibah in Tripoli, that she intends to be present in person in Libya for the reiteration of Italy’s commitment to helping Libya.
Meloni said the two countries would discuss a number of work issues and agreements that benefit the interests of both Libyans and Italians. She stressed the depth of relations between Rome and Tripoli, especially in economic cooperation.
Meloni’s visit to Tripoli on Tuesday was the fourth since Dbeibah took power as Prime Minister in 2021. She attended the Libyan-Italian Economic Forum – 30th Edition – which saw large-scale attendance by Libyan and Italian companies.
