Jordan scraps prior approval for Libyan visitors

The Jordanian Ministry of Interior has decided to allow Libyans to enter the Kingdom without a prior approval.

According to Jordanian TV, this decision comes as a result of separate meetings recently held by Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan with the relevant health authorities to take steps to simplify procedures related to medical tourism.

Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya explained that they had agreed to allow Libyan nationals to come to Jordan without the need for prior approval from the Ministry of Interior.

Al-Faraya added that travel requirements for Libyans would be limited to the condition of holding valid passports for a period of no less than 3 months, so that they can obtain an entry visa through the e-visa website or upon arrival at border centers.

According to Jordanian TV, these recent simplified procedures to attract medical tourists from Libya contribute to enhancing the marketing of Jordan’s medical tourism.

Royal Jordanian Airlines has recently resumed its flights to Tripoli after a hiatus that lasted more than 10 years.
