Libya’s Foreign Minister calls on ICC to bring Haftar to international justice

The Libyan Foreign Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Mohammed Sayala has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to bring to international justice the commander of the attacking forces against Tripoli, Khalifa Haftar.

The Libyan Foreign Minister numerated the crimes committed by Haftar in a letter to the United Nations’ Security Council, detailing the airstrikes that hit Al-Zawiya and Tajoura, causing civilian casualties.

“Such airstrikes are crimes against humanity that are committed by Haftar in his aggression on Tripoli.” Sayala said.

He added in the letter that the GNA cannot come to grips with the blindingly obvious lack of action by the Security Council toward Haftar’s crimes against civilians and his destruction of state and private infrastructures.
