Mauritania reopens embassy in Tripoli

The Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mohammed Salem, announced Thursday that his country’s embassy was reopened in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

This announcement came during his meeting with the Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, to whom he presented a message from the Mauritanian President confirming the depth of relations between the two countries, and the need to work on coordinating efforts at the level of the Arab Maghreb Union and the African Union.

Dbeibah highlighted the relationship between the two countries, the necessity of continuing cooperation in all fields, increasing economic cooperation, creating opportunities for Libyan manufacturers and the private sector to present their activities in Mauritania, and holding exhibitions and economic activities in Nouakchott similar to what the Ministry of Economy and General Trade did in the past.
