The head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, discussed with the Chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Ghazouani, Libya’s eligibility to assume senior and leadership positions in the Commission and the rest of the AU agencies and bodies.
According to the presidential press office, Menfi and Ghazouani agreed during their meeting in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, at the conclusion of the coordination meeting between the AU and the regional economic communities, to continue consultation within the framework of activating the role of the Maghreb Union and the rest of the African Union institutions.
During his meeting with the Congolese President and Chairman of the African Union High-Level Committee on Libya, Denis Sassou Nguesso, Menfi also touched on activating the Union’s role in the course of national reconciliation to ensure its inclusivity.
