NOC initiates an Oil line between the North Hamada field and the port of Mellitah

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that the technical teams of the Nafusa Oil Operations Company have begun operating the main oil line for the North Hamada field, which will transport the field’s production to the port of Mellitah via the Feel field line.

The NOC said that filling the line began gradually at a rate of 2,000 barrels per day until reaching 25,000 barrels per day, after which pumping begins towards the Mellitah complex following the opening of the connection valve with the Feel pipeline at a rate of 4,500 barrels per day.

The NOC indicated that it will increase production wells successively to reach 10,000 barrels per day in September 2024, which is the first phase program for developing the field.

According to the Corporation, the new oil line is 50 km long, 12 inches in diameter, and has a design capacity of 70 thousand barrels per day.

It has pointed out that the line is equipped with a leak detection system and a fiber optic cable that was extended along the line to transmit information. The connection point with the Feel Line was also equipped with a camera surveillance system.
