Russian embassy responds to Reuters report regarding counterfeit currency

The Russian Embassy in Libya denied what the Reuters news agency published about the fake Libyan dinar printed by Russia.

The Russian Embassy described the British newspaper’s article as amusing, saying that it is not surprising that London, at certain periods, continues to raise a topic that the Libyans laugh at, and that the basis for the spread of such information are unnamed sources and an expert from the British Research Institute in France, Jalal Harchaoui.

The embassy indicated that another source from the British intelligence service “MI6” was named as a specialist, and for the sake of diversification they named him “The Sentry” with a standard set of tasks – to expose corruption and war crimes, according to the embassy.

The Russian embassy pointed out that all official bodies already have information and “can expose these slanders,” as it refused to comment on the article, so as not to ’embarrass and disturb the authors’ as it put it.
