The influx of refugees is putting pressure on the border town of Kufra

Kufra Municipality spokesman Abdullah Suleiman said that the entry of large numbers of displaced people from Sudan into Kufra has put great pressure on the health and security sector in the small southern town.

Suleiman added, in a statement to Libya Al-Ahrar TV, that the last shipment of food aid distributed to the displaced was at the beginning of the month of Ramadan. He pointed out the difficulty of determining the exact numbers of displaced people from Sudan to Kufra, due to the continued influx into the city, and their departure from it towards other cities in northern Libya, after obtaining health certificates, according to his description.

The spokesman explained that the municipality monitored the entry of more than 15,000 displaced persons before the month of Ramadan, while the Health Committee recorded nearly 30,000 displaced persons.
