The newly elected head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohammad Younes Menfi, confirmed, on Friday, that he is obligated to hold national elections as planned.
Menfi said that he and the other two members are closely cooperating with the designated Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, as a team.
He added that they bear in mind the difficulty of the current situation and the concessions it requires for the sake of the more significant national interests.
He stressed his commitment to the work scheme that was proposed by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) days ago, especially elections timetable and national reconciliation. He stated that his PC would be a dedicated representative for all Libyans.
From his side, the elected PC member, Abdullah Al-Lafi, said on Friday that the national reconciliation would be his real interest and concern.
The other PC member, Mossa Al-Koni, pledged, on his Twitter account, to work for the security, prosperity and the unity of the Libyan soil. He also obliged to “serve our honourable people”.
