Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Güven Begeç, has confirmed that the Turkish consulate in Benghazi will open in the coming days, according to a statement by Benghazi Municipality.
Ambassador Begeç said that work was underway to return Turkish flights to Benghazi after fulfilling the required procedures and standards.
These remarks came during a visit Begeç made to Benghazi, where he met with the head of the city’s steering council, Al-Saqr Bujwari, and members of the council. He also stressed the importance of joint cooperation, expressing Ankara’s desire to activate joint economic and trade movement.
The meeting discussed joint interests between the two sides and the need to intensify the visits of businesspeople, in addition to supporting and enhancing economic aspects as well as cooperation in the field of restoring historical buildings and benefiting from Turkish expertise in the fields of infrastructure, reconstruction, and capacity development.
