University of Tripoli suspends study over fighting in Tajoura

The University of Tripoli announced the suspension of studies, exams and administrative work in all its faculties and departments until further notice.

This announcement came on the heels of security tensions in the municipality of Tajoura that started on Friday.

Tajoura saw on Friday sporadic clashes that left 9 people killed and over 16 others injured, according to the Ambulance and Emergency Apparatus in Tripoli.

Libya Al-Ahrar TV channel’s correspondent has reported that the coastal road from Tajoura to Gaser Al-Akhyar is still closed, adding that the area is witnessing a military build-up and a mobilization of armed units.

The Presidential Council, as the Chief Commander of the Libyan Army, issued instructions to all forces to return to their barracks immediately and to prevent any military movement without its permission.
