The US Special Envoy and Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, has met with the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al-Haddad in Tripoli.
Norland expressed, according to a tweet by the US embassy, US support for efforts to secure the departure of foreign mercenaries and fighters as well as all foreign forces, and cautioned against their further entrenchment in Libya.
“We discussed promising efforts to form a joint unit as a first step toward reunifying Libyan military forces.” Norland remarked.
