The Emergency Committee, appointed by the Ministry of Sports of the Government National Unity (GNU), has visited sports facilities affected by floods in eastern Libya. The committee conducted field visits to assess the extensive damage to facilities, establishments, and sports clubs in the affected municipalities.
The visit included clubs such as Darnes, Alsdaqa, Almurooj, Shabab Aljabel, Entisar, Kairouan, Al Barari Al Makhili, Al Khattaf, Stars of Aslanta, Al Shajara Club Stadium in Qandoula, Al Ain in Al Quba, Al Kifah in Taknes and Al Manara Club.
During the visit, it was confirmed that all club facilities and stadiums need maintenance of electrical networks and administrative buildings. The committee conducted an inspection of the damage in the different buildings and locations. Among the most affected was Darnes Club, which has suffered comprehensive damage ruining all its facilities.
The committee also inspected the Al Manara Club in Sousse, which needs maintenance of the main stadium, electrical network, and office building. Meanwhile, Al Ain Sports Club Stadium suffered significant damage due to the unexpected flooding. The committee stated in its report to the Minister that floods inundated the stadium and all its facilities need complete maintenance, as well as the entire administrative building and all its devices and facilities.
