The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity (GNU), Suhail Bushiha, denied that the government spent 420 billion dinars during the three years.
Bushiha said in a statement to Libya Al-Ahrar in response to the Central Bank of Libya’s (CBL) letter that the government’s total spending during the previous three years amounted to 340 billion dinars, according to the latest report on revenues and spending.
Bushiha attributed the reason for spending, according to reports, reaching this level, to the rise in the first section of spending, “salaries”.
Regarding the use of foreign exchange during the same years, Bousheha explained that the government supplied foreign exchange to the Central Bank from 2021 to 2023 a total of 75.0 billion dollars.
