Nephew: Libya’s unity government hasn’t helped Abu Agila’s family obtain US visa

The nephew of Lockerbie case’s new suspect, Abu Agila Masud Al-Mariami, has told Libya Alahrar TV channel that the Foreign Ministry of the Government of National Unity (GNU) hasn’t provided any facilitation for Masud’s family to get a visa from the US embassy to travel and visit the suspect, as promised earlier by the Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

Abdulmonem Al-Mariami told Libya Alahrar TV that after they had rejected to communicate with the GNU delegation, the Libyan ambassador or consul in the US didn’t contact with the suspect’s family and help them talk to him as per the US law.

The nephew indicated that Masud’s family would start a fund to raise donations to help cover the costs of defense attorneys, adding that some individuals and entities agreed to take part.
