Libyan PM discusses reopening Ras Ajdair border after third postponement

Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah discussed the final arrangements for the reopening of the border crossing in Ras Ajdair during a meeting with the Minister-designate of Interior, Emad Al-Trabelsi, the Assistant Chief of General Staff, Salah Al-Namroush, the Director of the Passports and Nationality Authority, Youssef Murad, and the Director of the Administrative Centers Development Authority, Ibrahim Takita.

Dbeibah stressed the need to unify efforts among all institutions to organize work at the Ras Ajdair border, facilitate procedures for citizens, and coordinate with the Tunisian side in these aspects.

Al-Trabelsi stressed the importance of cooperation between the Ministries of Defense and the Interior with all their components in order to coordinate efforts to organize work in Ras Ajdair border, while Al-Namroush presented a briefing on his visit to Ras Ajdair on Tuesday, the security situation and arrangements related to coordination among the security services, stressing full readiness in all security aspects.

The Director General of the Administrative Centers Development Authority also confirmed the completion of the basic buildings at the crossing to begin work and the continuation of other work. The attendees confirmed the readiness to reopen the border after completing all the work.

The Ministry of Interior postponed the reopening of the Ras Ajdair border last Monday without explaining the reasons for the postponement.
