AG Office jails Egyptian national who has forged Libyan citizenship, worked at Justice Ministry

The Libyan Attorney General’s (AG) Office had lodged in jail an Egyptian expatriate who forged Libyan citizenship documents and then used them as a pretext that enabled him to assume the position of Director of the Planning Department at the Ministry of Justice before 2021.

The AG Office added that the Egyptian expatriate used documents indicating that he was Libyan, saying that the investigation revealed that the man was an employee within the administrative units in the health sector in violation of the civil service regulations.

It also indicated that the Egyptian national had then moved to work at the Ministry of Justice, where he exercised duties of the Director of Planning and gained illegal profit via corruption.

The Attorney General’s Office explained that the man had received 1.320.000 dinars in exchange for facilitating the disbursement of the price of service contracts provided by the implementation tools for the benefit of the justice sector.
