Erdogan: Turkey’s intervention in Libya boosted hopes for political solution

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has indicated that the Turkish intervention in Libya and support, training programs as well as consultations provided to the Government of National Accord (GNA) helped the country not to slip more into a bigger internal war.

Erdogan said in a video message to the 12th International Halifax Security Conference that Ankara’s intervention in Libya had given fresh hopes to and boosted political solution efforts, paving the way for the resumption of the political process.

The Turkish President indicated that Ankara was still coordinating with all parties, especially the United Nations, to reach a lasting ceasefire and a comprehensive political solution in Libya, saying Turkey is in support for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
