The Meteorological Center warned of torrents in the valleys and the accumulation of water in low places as a result of heavy rains in coastal areas of the eastern region starting Tuesday evening.
The Center said in a statement by its spokesman, Mohieddin Ramadan, to Libya Al-Ahrar that heavy rain will be witnessed in the cities of Green Mountain and its interior areas and will reach its peak tomorrow, Wednesday.
The Center added that the rain will gradually decrease on Thursday and Friday, indicating that the storm will reach Awjila, Jalo, Al-Jaghbub and its neighboring areas.
The Center also indicated in its warning that there is also a chance of heavy rain falling in the northwestern regions but to a lesser degree than in the eastern region.
The Meteorological Center had warned citizens through social media of heavy rain and water accumulations in low places, which will be accompanied by thunderclouds.
