Owner of counterfeit medicine factory in Tobruk arrested in Benina Airport

The Libyan Attorney General’s Office announced the arrest of a man accused of running a counterfeit medicine factory in Tobruk city while he was traveling from Benina Airport in Benghazi on charges of smuggling counterfeit medicines into Libya.

The Office said that the man deliberately counterfeited pain relief medication (Panadol – Paracetamol) and blood sugar regulation medications, saying that he wanted to counterfeit medication packages using the descriptions of the approved ones.

The Anti-Narcotics Agency, Tobruk branch, raided a factory for hallucination pills and counterfeit medicines in the Al-Khawair area on Al-Jamal Project road, south of the city, seizing large quantities of medicines that were being illegally manufactured, in addition to arresting some of those accused of operating the factory, including foreign individuals.
