HNEC announces date for publishing local elections’ voter lists in polling stations

The High National Election Commission (HNEC) announced that it will begin publishing the preliminary lists of the voter registry in the election centers where voters are registered next Sunday, over a period of 3 days.

In its statement issued on Tuesday, the HNEC directed voters to the election centers to ensure that their names are listed correctly or to submit a request to the Objections and Complaints Committee if there are any errors in the listed names.

The Commission indicated that it had registered more than 210,000 voters, including nearly 150,000 men and more than 61,000 women, until July 13.

The Commission stated that the recorded numbers exceeded all expectations and plans drawn up to implement this phase, relative to the population of those 60 municipalities targeted in the first phase.

The HNEC had extended registration in the voter registration system twice to allow citizens to register and give a greater opportunity for participation in municipal elections.
