Menfi commends extending the mandate of the UN mission in Libya

The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has stated that the recent Security Council decision to extend the mandate of the UN mission reflects the international will to support stability in the country.

This statement was made during a meeting with the UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Bathily, according to what was published by the Press Office of the Presidential Council. Bathily expressed his appreciation for the steps taken by the Council to consolidate the foundations of stability and achieve national reconciliation. He also praised the work of the High Financial Committee and the support of the electoral process with national ownership, in partnership with the United Nations and other international partners.

Bathily also pointed out the importance of mobilizing international support to deal with the Derna disaster by calling on several countries and organizations to contribute to providing humanitarian and relief aid.
