The Ministry of Justice of the Government of National Unity called on the Judicial Expertise and Research Center to take urgent and immediate measures to investigate the circumstances of the collapse of a residential building in Janzour.
Janzour witnessed the collapse of a three-story residential building on Thursday night, as the Emergency Medicine and Support Center reported the recovery of seven dead bodies, indicating that all the victims were foreign workers.
The center explained in a statement that it had coordinated with the Director of the Janzour Partial Prosecution Office, and assigned two teams of experts, the first from forensic doctors affiliated with the Abu Salim Forensic Medicine Office, and the second from an engineering team from the Engineering Expertise Department, to immediately move to the scene.
The statement also confirmed that the Public Prosecution Office had begun investigation procedures into the incident to determine the reasons that led to the collapse of the building and identify the victims in order to refer them to the forensic medicine to take technical action.
The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, announced in a speech from the site of the incident, assigning the Ministry of Interior to investigate the collapse of the building, stressing the need to take retribution in the incident, considering the incident a crime due to violating building conditions.
