The Deputies of the 3 Councils emphasize supporting the devastated areas

The Deputy President of the Presidential Council of Libya held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) and the Deputy President of the High Council of State (HCS) to discuss the situation in the areas affected by floods in the Green Mountain. The attendees stressed the importance of officials’ attention to the affected areas due to floods for reconstruction.

The attendees confirmed that “the destruction suffered by Derna is due to the neglect of successive governments that did not pay attention to infrastructure and reconstruction in all regions” The attendees also pointed out “the neglect suffered by southern regions represented by weak infrastructure that led to a decline in service levels in many areas.”

The officials praised “the Libyans’ response” to the flood-stricken areas, especially Derna and the east in general and stressed the importance of giving special attention to the affected areas, due to floods, for reconstruction.
