The Maltese Herald: Haftar has sent military trucks to Sudan’s RSF

The Maltese Herald newspaper reported that Khalifa Haftar had sent military trucks to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in preparation for a major battle in Al Fashir.

The newspaper highlighted intense activity at the Maatin Al-Sara base in southeastern Libya, where Russian military equipment had reportedly been transferred.

According to the Maltese newspaper, Haftar is supplying the RSF with troops and weapons, while funding and logistical support are being provided by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The newspaper added that the RSF had suffered a series of losses against the Sudanese Armed Forces across various regions in Sudan.

“The group is now focusing its attention on northwestern Sudan, where it maintains a stronger presence,” the newspaper explained.

The relationship between Khalifa Haftar and Sudan’s RSF is a pragmatic alliance rooted in shared strategic interests and regional dynamics. Tied together by mutual links to the UAE and Russia’s Wagner Group, their partnership underscores the broader geopolitics fueling instability in Libya and Sudan.
