Tripoli court issues prison sentences for 3 defendants in human trafficking case

The Tripoli Criminal Court issued a conviction against 3 defendants on charges of organizing illegal immigration and human trafficking.

The court proved the defendants’ involvement in coordinating illegal immigration operations that crossed borders, through a group linked to other networks that practiced smuggling irregular immigrants across international borders and coastlines.

The court convicted the first defendant of 10 years in prison, while it sentenced the second and third defendants to 5 years in prison each, in addition to confiscating the means of transportation they used to transport illegal immigrants.
