Libya Al-Ahrar TV Channel’s correspondent reported that two people were killed, six others were injured, and six families were evacuated as a result of the clashes that took place in Al-Jadida area in Ajilat municipality.
The correspondent added that the armed clashes were renewed before dawn on Sunday, and the sounds of gunfire were heard in the Al-Jadida after hours of an uneasy calm.
Meanwhile, calm returned to the area after the clashes stopped at dawn due to the entry of a force affiliated with the Western Coast Military Zone.
The media office of the Red Crescent, Ajilat branch, called on people to stay away from windows, doors, and places near the clashes, and to avoid going out except in cases of extreme necessity and after prior coordination.
The Education Supervisor in the Al-Jadida, Essam Mawloud Al-Fahri, announced a temporary suspension of studies within the administrative borders of the municipality in order to ensure the safety of students and pupils in anticipation of renewed clashes.
These developments come in conjunction with the security operation launched by the Western Coast Military Zone in the areas west of Tripoli, which began in the city of Al-Zawiya as a first phase.
