Saudi Arabia and the United States (US) have reaffirmed their support for the UN-sponsored political process in Libya, which aims to prepare for the presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.
In a joint statement on the sidelines of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia, the two countries expressed their full support for the ceasefire agreement, which calls for the complete departure of foreign forces, foreign fighters and mercenaries without delay, in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2570 issued in 2021.
These remarks came during a statement issued by US President Joe Biden with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman after their meeting in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
