The Minister of Housing Abu Bakr Al-Ghawi met with members of the High Council of State (HCS) to discuss adopting an urban plan for the “Sidi Sultan Al-Fattaih” area in Derna. This strategic initiative aims to enhance the city’s infrastructure and promote sustainable development.
The “Sidi Sultan Al-Fattaih” area, spanning 1,000 hectares, holds immense potential for growth and transformation. By carefully planning its development, the Ministry seeks to create a vibrant and functional urban space that caters to the needs of residents and visitors.
One of the key aspects discussed during the meeting was the involvement of American consulting offices. Minister Al-Ghawi emphasized the importance of such provisions, which were recently presented to the Council of Ministers during their session in Gharyan. The Council’s approval will pave the way for the implementation of the urban plan, marking a significant milestone for Derna’s future.
“The Ministry of Housing and its affiliated bodies are fully committed to the development of Derna,” stated Al-Ghawi. In addition to the urban plan, the HCS members urgently called upon the government to adopt a proposal aimed at providing rent allowances to families affected by the recent events related to Storm Daniel.
