Libya and Algeria have agreed to reopen joint border crossings in order to facilitate the movement of people and the transportation of goods between the two neighboring countries.
The agreement came in a meeting between the Libyan Minister of Transportation, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, and the Algerian counterpart Kamal Nasri, in Algiers.
The two ministers also agreed on launching a maritime line between the Libyan and Algerian ports for travelers and goods’ transportation, tasking the relevant authorities to finalize the agreements as soon as possible.
The Libyan and Algerian ministers renewed the need for reopening air space and resuming flights between the two neighboring countries in order to boost cooperation and bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, the Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah and an accompanying delegation arrived in Algeria Saturday evening and would be holding official meetings with Algerian officials to bolster bilateral cooperation.
