Italy’s Foreign Minister arrives in Libya, reviews latest developments

The Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi di Maio, arrived in Tripoli on Monday and met with a number of Libyan officials to discuss the latest developments in the country.

Di Maio met with the Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, and the Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush.

Di Maio and Menfi discussed the need for the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to approve an elections legislation and the budget bill for the political process to go forth with the elections taking place on December 24.

The Italian Foreign Minister welcomed the opening of the coastal road between east and west Libya.
