The Deputy resident of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, met on Sunday with the UN envoy, Abdullah Bathily, in Tripoli to discuss developments in Libya.
The meeting discussed the current political impasse, what has been accomplished regarding the national reconciliation and efforts to convene an inclusive national conference with the participation of all actors in the political process.
During the meeting, Al-Lafi renewed the support of the Presidential Council for the initiatives of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, towards advancing the political path towards achieving stability and elections which the Libyans aspire to.
For his part, the UN envoy reaffirmed the UN mission’s support for the efforts of the Presidential Council to succeed in the national reconciliation project.
