GNU spokesman rejects HoR Speaker’s statement on need of force-packed entry to Tripoli

The spokesman for the Government of National Unity (GNU), Mohammed Hammouda, has said that the GNU rejects the statements of House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Aqila Saleh, in which he claims that entering Tripoli will only be through fighting or war.

Hammouda explained on Facebook that the GNU reassured Libyans that it would not allow any party to use force or violence to create chaos and impose its own political agendas by force.

In the meantime, Hammouda said the GNU warned against the efforts of some parties to withdraw the people’s assets deposited in commercial banks and use them to finance wars.

The HoR Speaker said in his meeting with the Libyan government, designated by the HoR, and a number of representatives of sovereign institutions that Tripoli is under the control of armed groups and the entry to it can only be through fighting those armed groups or with their consent.

Aqila Saleh added that Sirte is the guarantor solution to liberate the government from the control of those armed groups.
