After swearing in the ministers of the Government of National Unity (GNU) on Monday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, said the GNU should work also on the departure of all foreign elements and mercenaries from the country.
The Speaker of the HoR also said in his speech after the swearing in of the GNU ministers that the time of division and fragmentation ended and “now is the time of reconciliation and forgiveness among all Libyans”.
Saleh said the GNU should be responsible for improving the living conditions across Libya and paving the way for general elections so that Libyans can decide who their leaders are in a democratic and transparent way.
The ministers of the Libyan Government of National Unity (GNU) have been sworn in at the House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobruk in eastern Libya.
The Prime Minister of the GNAU, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, was the first to be sworn in and then he was followed by his two deputies and the rest of ministers and state ministers.
The session was attended by the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, and the two members, Abdullah Al-Lafi and Mossa Al-Kouni.
Menfi urged in a speech after the swearing in of the ministers had ended the Government of National Unity to pave the way for elections on schedule – December 24, 2021.
The Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri also attended the swearing in session at the HoR in Tobruk.
