Human rights body warns of continued mobilization in Libyan capital

The National Institution for Human Rights in Libya (NIHRL) has issued a statement warning of continued military mobilizations by some armed forces in Tripoli.

This came after the brief clashes that took place in the capital on April 11-12.

The human rights body also warned all Libyan parties of the consequences of excessive use of armed force, stressing the need to keep civilians away from armed conflicts.

The NIHRL called on the Presidential Council, Government of National Unity, and the Ministries of Interior and Defense to work on defusing tension and stopping war within residential neighborhoods.

It also reminded all parties to avoid committing any serious violations against civilians and to avoid barricading themselves in residential areas.
