Le360 website: Al-Mishri and Aqila Saleh to meet in Morocco

The Head of the High Council of State (HCS) Khalid Al-Mishri, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, are rumored to have touched down in Rabat, Morocco for consensus talks, according to the Moroccan website, Le360.

Le360 said Al-Mishri and Saleh arrived in Rabat on January 01 – last Saturday, and they are said to be preparing to discuss their disputes over elections laws and efforts for a new roadmap.

Libya was supposed to hold presidential elections on December 24 as per the roadmap of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) and the election law approved by the HoR.

Le360 said it’s not clear whether Saleh and Al-Mishri will hold face-to-face talks or just through Moroccan officials.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the HCS, Mohammed Abdel Nasser, denied that Al-Mishri traveled to Morocco, saying the Head of the HCS has not left Tripoli and rumors about his meeting with Saleh aren’t true.
