The Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) said on Sunday it was deeply saddened to see the failure of the UN Security Council in adopting a draft ceasefire in Gaza.
The HoR’s committee said that the failure came as part of a series of international disappointments to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
“The continuation of the military operation in Rafah would have negative effects on stability and peace in the entire region. There’s a pressing need to stop the Israeli aggression immediately in order to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.” The committee’s statement reads.
It underscored that the humanitarian situation in Gaza was unbearable, reiterating that the actions of the Israeli occupation forces and their obstruction of the entry of humanitarian aid amounted to a crime of genocide.
At least 32,333 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s ongoing offensive on the Gaza Strip since October 07, 2023, the Health Ministry in the besieged city said on Monday.
