Libya plagued with fast-spreading Coronavirus

Libya has been seeing a very scary increase of Coronavirus cases across the country, coupled with the very poor healthcare system and coronavirus response by the relevant authorities, in addition to the deteriorating health facilities in the country.

On Tuesday, 20 people died of Coronavirus complications and about 2500 new cases were registered across Libya, with 1422 cases recovering from the virus that had been spreading fast in a country where healthcare services could be described as very poor; to say the least.

According to the National Center for Disease Control, most cases had been registered in Tripoli, Misrata and Zliten, of course; in addition to other cities where testing is very poor; like in the south.

The National Center for Disease Control says that now Libya has over 61.000 active cases out of a total of over 260.000 since the start of testing in Libya in late March 2020.
