Libyan dialogue in Tunisia to select Head of Presidential Council, Prime Minister

The spokesman for the Libyan High Council of State said Libyan Dialogue Forum under the auspices of the UN in Tunisia, slated for November 09, will discuss agreement on selecting new Head of the Presidential Council and two deputies as well as a Prime Minister and state sovereign positions.

The spokesman told Libya Alahrar TV that the attendees of the Libyan Dialogue Forum will arrive in Tunis on November 05 and 06 ahead of the kickstart of the dialogue on November 09.

He also indicated that the Libyan Dialogue Forum will be attended by 13 representatives from both the High Council of State and the House of Representatives, in addition to over 70 people selected by the UNSMIL.

Earlier Friday, the UN acting envoy to Libya announced the signing of a ceasefire agreement between the delegations of the country’s two main warring sides.

“The 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission talks in Geneva today culminate in a historic achievement as Libyan teams reach a permanent cease-fire agreement across Libya. This achievement is an important turning point towards peace and stability in Libya,” Stephanie Williams added.
