Nova: IRINI investigated 628 ships last April

Nova News Agency said that the European Union’s Operation IRINI investigated 628 commercial ships last April via radio calls, out of a total of more than 14,120 ships.

The Italian agency added that the operation, charged with implementing the arms embargo imposed by the United Nations on Libya, carried out 8 inspections on board ships during the same period. Bringing the total number of inspections carried out since the beginning of the operation to 603.

Nova mentioned that according to the monthly report on the operation, IRINI also monitored 22 suspicious flights out of 1,400, and continued to monitor 25 airports and runways, along with 16 ports and oil terminals.
