Media outlets have revealed that an upcoming tripartite meeting will be held for the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, the Head of the High Council of State, Khalid Al-Mishri, and the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi to discuss the governmental situation in Libya.
The media outlets, Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed (The New Arab) and Anadolu Agency, citied their sources as saying that the tripartite meeting would be hosted by the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the next two days to review the fate of the executive authority.
The sources indicated that the meeting would also represent support for the meeting of the joint constitutional committee, which is discussing in Cairo the constitutional track and ways to reach a consensual constitutional basis for holding presidential and parliamentary elections.
Anadolu Agency also reported, according to a member of the High Council of State, that the upcoming meeting would be within the framework of consultations of the three Libyan authorities, and would also support the Cairo constitutional talks being held in Cairo to reach a constitutional basis.
On Sunday, the third and final round of talks for the constitutional committee began in Egypt with the aim to agree on a constitutional basis for holding elections as soon as possible under the auspices of the UN mission.
