Libyan PM meets Qatar’s Emir in Doha

The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, arrived with a delegation from his government on Saturday in Qatari capital, Doha, and they were received by the Qatari Minister of Youths and Sports, Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, ahead of his meeting with the Qatari Emir.

On Sunday, Dbeibah met with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and discussed the latest political developments in Libya and the region, in addition to stressing the need for coordination in issues of joint interest.

The Qatari government issued a statement after the meeting saying that Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani had reiterated Doha’s unwavering support for the Libyan people and the stability as well as development of their country.

“We reiterate Qatar’s full support for the political track in Libya and all pertaining Security Council resolutions, in addition to all peaceful solutions that preserve Libya’s sovereignty.” The Emir said.

The visit to Qatar came after a number of developments in Libya, including the latest fuss created by the Rome sit-down between the Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, and her Israeli counterpart, Eli Cohen, which led PM Dbeibah to dismiss Al-Mangoush pending investigations.
