Libyan PM says there’s no justification for the current cash crisis

Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has lashed out at the current crisis of cash flows and cash withdrawals’ problems faced by people ahead of Eid Al-Adha vacation, saying there isn’t any reason for cash shortages at banks.

Dbeibah also said banks were exploiting the ongoing circumstances of the people, adding during the opening of the Grand Mosque in Al-Asaba town that there was a need for a radical change in the policy of the Central Bank and commercial banks.

Dbeibah said that he had no authority over banks to provide cash withdrawals and that they had sought help from some companies to provide cash.

Speaking about Libya’s economic conditions, Dbeibah reiterated that the national economic conditions were fine, lashing out at the foreign currency exchange transactions’ fee, saying it was unjustified and unfair. He called on Libyans to be united against unjust decisions.
