Libya’s Foreign Ministry denounces Macron’s offensive statements on Islam

The Libyan Foreign Ministry denounced on Monday the offensive statements made by France’s President Emmanuel Macron against Islam.

The spokesman for the Libyan Foreign Ministry, Mohammed Al-Giblawi, said Macron’s statements incite hate, adding that he was using religion for his own political gains.

Al-Giblawi indicated that Macron should remember the declaration of the European Court for Human Rights of 2018, which says offensive acts against Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) aren’t considered a form freedom of expression.

He added that the Libyan Foreign Ministry calls on the French President to apologize for over a billion Muslims, including French nationals.
