The media office of the Libyan Presidential Council’s Head Fayez Al-Sarraj has rendered the footage of Syrian fighters in a camp claiming to be in Libya on pro-Haftar social media pages as untrue.
The media office added on Sunday that they had searched thoroughly the footage on local and international channels to find out that the video was shot in Idlib, Syria.
The Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) vowed to hold accountable all those who helped spread the lies and allegations with the aim to undermine the victories of the Libyan Army and backup forces.
Meanwhile, Footage for Syrian fighters claiming to be fighting for the GNA was circulated on social media on Saturday, with pro-Haftar media outlets saying Syrian opposition army was sending fighters to Libya to combat Haftar’s forces.
