The leaked videos show various methods of torture, with prisoners being severely beaten with sticks and whips, likely resulting in serious injuries, bruises and fractures.
According to former prisoners in the prison, detainees are subjected to electric shocks to various parts of their bodies, in addition to being repeatedly deprived of sleep and decent food and drink for long periods, which leads to a deterioration in their health.
Granada prison houses political prisoners who oppose Haftar, and human rights organizations have repeatedly condemned the violations inside the prison, calling for an immediate and independent investigation and for holding those responsible for these crimes accountable.
