The Head of the Presidential Council Mohamed Menfi and French President Emmanuel Macron met on Thursday at the Elysee Palace in Paris to discuss the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the peace forum, where the two leaders addressed unifying efforts for a humanitarian truce in preparation for a sustainable cessation of military operations. The Presidential Council stated that the meeting also touched on developments in the political process in Libya and welcomed the findings of the 6+6 Committee regarding electoral laws, as well as the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Committee.
The two sides stressed the need to reach a national consensus on the remaining outstanding issues that are still in dispute, leading to the holding of elections as soon as possible.
