The Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has reaffirmed the need to preserve Libya’s sovereignty and unity as well as commitment to the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum’s roadmap.
Menfi’s statement came in a meeting with Batnan elders from eastern Libya in the presence of Tobruk mayor, where he discussed challenges facing the area like electricity and water shortages as well as Coronavirus pandemic problems.
He also reiterated the need for holding elections on time and supporting the 5+5 Joint Military Commission, as well as national reconciliation efforts, promising to resolve the issues in Batnan in coordination with state authorities.
Meanwhile, the elders reiterated support for the Presidential Council and vowed to do all their best to push national reconciliation efforts forward to reach elections on December 24.
